Small Reef Study
This small wall sculpture was inspired by the shell and barnacle encrusted rocks I pick up at the beach. Such a tiny bit of real estate, every spot filled with some living creature. I am sure they need each other (or maybe they are at odds) but the result is a chaotic natural sculpture that inspires my own. All my wall sculptures are really about examining these close quarter relationships. No element is exceptionally interesting on it's own but in combination, they create a tiny landscape. Bleached coral, fungi and barnacles combine on this one, a strange blend of land and sea.
Easy to hang on a wall or it can sit on a surface. I clean these with compressed air or a blow dryer, just to keep the dust at bay. Measures 5 inches in diameter.
